Ncsoft Master Account
My master account was hacked, i emailed support, all the accounts linked to it were hacked/passwords changed.
Besides contacting support is there anything i can do? I dont remember the questions either, Also, does this type of hacker just delete everything on the accounts? |

There is nothing else you can do, the only thing support can do is get your account back and working, but anything like characters/items that were stolen/deleted are gone forever because anet doesn't restore your things.
Honestly, if you got hacked by using a weak password common to dictionary attacks or just in general, common, when/if you get your account back and wish to keep playing if you have reason to, make some cryptic uncommon passwords. People that use dictionary common P/W's get hacked a lot, people that use uncommon ones, don't unless a keylogger gets them which is only when you get engaged in RMT and GW hack sites. Sry bro. |

Well, as far as I heard, they do it for money, so no real point in deleting chars or items - only stealing money and items worth selling and salvaging armor like obsidian and vabbian ofor materials or salvagin for runes like superior vigor. Meens there is a decent chance all of your chars are still there with customized/not expensive equipment or armor intact.

The OP says they hacked the master account. The login ID for the master account is not an email address, unlike the game accounts. How did the hackers obtain the master account login ID, which they would need to have before they can start cracking the password? If the OP has a keylogger, then the hackers have both the ID and password, so there is no need for a dictionary attack. If the OP does not have a keylogger, then there is a security hole elsewhere that is revealing the IDs to the hackers, at which point the strength of the password becomes an issue. But, in that case, I would be much more worried about that security hole and the steps needed to close it.

these are things we have been trying to solve, however this thread will soon be closed like the rest. I mean obviously all these hacked accounts have nothing to do with plaync. Even though people keep coming here and saying that, anet told us its your own fault /close thread.
On a more serious note, is there even a way to change your plaync user name? and I wonder how many people have the same user name for plaync and fan sites just like this one. |

I realize how frustrated some of you must be, but there's nothing we can do on this site to help. You must go through support.
Read this on security, run this to download anti-malware software, go here to ask for support on your issue. In addition, I've added your stories to our ongoing thread to have them all consolidated for the last month: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...79#post4928279 |
